Part A — Cookie Policy
1. What this covers
This Cookie Policy explains how the Halo Platform ("Platform") uses cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage and tokens) when you log in and use the service. It supplements our (/privacy.html).
2. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website or use a web app. Similar technologies (local storage, session tokens) store information in your browser. We use them to keep you logged in, secure your session, remember your settings, and understand how the Platform is used.
3. The cookies we use
Because the Platform is private and login-protected, most of what we use is strictly necessary to deliver the service.

You can control cookies through your browser settings — blocking or deleting them. Note that blocking strictly-necessary cookies will prevent you from logging in or using the Platform. Where we use non-essential (e.g. analytics) cookies and your jurisdiction requires consent, we will ask for it and you can withdraw it at any time.

Part B — Acceptable Use Policy
1. Scope
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your conduct when using the Platform and forms part of, and is incorporated into, the (/terms.html). It applies to all users — writers, co-writers, and partner/publisher administrators. Capitalised terms have the meaning given in the Terms of Service.
2. You must not
You agree that you will not:
- Submit false, fraudulent, or misleading information — including incorrect ownership claims, writer splits, identities, payee details, or work metadata.
- Submit works you do not have the right to administer, or that infringe any third party's copyright, trademark, privacy, or other rights.
- Submit another person's data without authority — you must have the necessary consent from any co-writer or rights-holder whose personal data you provide.
- Access or attempt to access data outside your authorised scope — for example, a partner administrator accessing writers or works not assigned to them, or any attempt to access other tenants' data.
- Compromise security — attempt to breach, probe, or circumvent authentication, access controls, or any security feature; or use another user's account.
- Disrupt the Platform — introduce malware, overload, scrape, crawl, or use bots/automated means to extract data except via interfaces we expressly provide; or interfere with other users' use.
- Reverse-engineer, copy, resell, or create derivative works from the Platform except as permitted by law.
- Use the Platform unlawfully — including for money laundering, sanctions evasion, fraud, or any unlawful purpose, or in breach of applicable export-control or anti-corruption laws.
- Misrepresent your identity or affiliation, or impersonate Halo, a partner, or any other person.
- Upload unlawful, defamatory, or harmful content, or special-category personal data, except where strictly necessary and agreed.
3. Partner administrators — additional rules
If you are a partner / publisher administrator, you must only process writer and work data for legitimate administration purposes within your authorised tenant, keep your team's access credentials secure, promptly remove access for departed staff, and comply with any data processing terms agreed with Halo.
4. Reporting and enforcement
If you become aware of a breach of this AUP — including suspected unauthorised access, a data issue, or a security vulnerability — report it to info@halomusic.us. We may investigate suspected breaches and, consistent with the Terms of Service, suspend or terminate access, remove or quarantine content, and report unlawful activity to the authorities.
5. Changes
We may update this AUP from time to time and will change the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Platform after a change constitutes acceptance.
